About

This is a webcomic about office life drawn by Alvin Lim. There are some older comics which are more general (not just about office life but also on motivational topics) produced by me. You can find them in my main blog here – old comics. I no longer create those though since I’m paying 100% attention to this webcomic.

Anyway, let’s move on to some commonly and frequently asked questions (FAQs):

When do you normally post up new comics? And how often?

I only post up 1 comic per week, on every Monday. This is due to my hectic schedule. I can only come out with 1 comic per week. :( Anyway, you can subscribe to the RSS of this webcomic HERE or add us in Facebook. Do feel free to share this webcomic with your friends if you feel it’s good.

Any hidden meaning behind the comic?

Most of them do not have any hidden meaning. There are some “moral of the story”, but those are plainly just for fun. If you want meaningful and thought-provoking articles, you can go to my main blog Alvin Lim – The Dreamer. By the way, most stories here are based on my personal imagination and some are incidents experienced by my friends. The stories here are not related to my personal working life. :)

Any reason why you are doing this webcomic? What are the objectives?

I love to draw and I love to make people laugh or cheer up their day. Those are my main reasons. My ultimate dream is of course to have a strong fan base, and maybe go on to do other stuff like what XKCD is doing. But for now, my focus is just to provide more content and of course, to try and cheer people up with the comic.

Are the hours long?

Yes. For very simple comics, I only need to spend an hour or 2 since there are not much tweaking and modifying. But for comics with more ‘movements’, actions and scenes, they require quite a lot of time. 3 to 4 hours for a comic is nothing new even though I do have templates.

Are you doing this alone?

Yes. For now, there is only one contributor for the story, the artwork and the site itself – me.

Don’t you feel tired?

Sometimes, yea. But it’s something I love to do and if my comics can make people happy, I feel it’s really worth the efforts. And well, the most tiring part is to be able to come out with jokes people can understand every week.

Do you feel disappointed when people don’t understand the comic?

Yeap. But some of the comics have pretty deep meanings and not many can understand. And some are just plain not funny. After all, a comic which is funny for me might not be funny for other people. Different people have different contexts. I just treat that as part of my learning process.

What is your long term plan for this webcomic?

Have a stronger fan base. That’s all. :D

Do you have plans for advertisement?

Nope. Never. This will be an ad-free webcomic.

Where do you normally get the ideas from?

While taking bath? Or toilet break sessions? Most of them are totally unrelated to my personal life experiences. I just try to combine few elements from here and there. ;) So don’t be surprised if you see me becoming weird due to all these ‘ideas’.

Do you accept comic ideas from others?

Of course but no promise if I’ll ever draw them. I need to take into consideration a lot of factors. Remember, what appears to be funny to you might not be half as funny for other people. Just feel free to drop comments or contact me if you want to contribute some ideas :)

Do you expect any changes from the current design/layout?

This webcomic is very new. I do believe it’ll evolve over time. At least, I do hope it will evolve. As for the layout, it will remain more or less the same. I prefer the simplistic approach. :)

Also, I am always open to opinions (besides ideas for comics). Feel free to drop some comments or contact me directly. Feedback will help me to improve.

Oh, and by the way, those FAQs are from me. Only 1 friend of mine has ever asked me 1 question (one of the questions in the FAQs) about this webcomic. :P
