Not every company culture makes sense

Sometimes when we join a new company, we’ll encounter some very funny company culture or some funny behaviors from the staff. But well, there are times when we just have to adapt

Hopefully my new company is going to be a fun (and normal) one.

Bosses love to talk about innovation....perhaps far more than necessary

There’s nothing wrong with promoting innovation in a company. But promoting innovation by saying it, and not doing it, that’s another story. Most companies do promote and encourage their employees to innovate. However, they don’t allocate time and freedom for the employees to do so. To make things worse, some of the most innovative ideas will be turned down by the bosses just because “the employees won’t under how the company works”.

If every company thinks like this, then the software industry should be dying by now

Some companies spend too much on unnecessary software upgrades while some are not willing to spend at all. There will always be risks and possible impact, but the longer you drag, the more expensive it becomes to move to new platform or system. Someone has to be the one brave enough to START the entire migration. Otherwise, it’s hard to keep up with the new competition.

By the way, this is Juan (the emotionless guy on the left) in his last job before he moved to the current company with Mitch. This was the place which made him the “I-care-not-for-this-company” person.

I wonder how many bosses actually have such habit

Somehow I feel that most bosses will ask for the best performance from their people but will tell their people to appreciate whatever benefits they have even though those benefits are pretty limited.
